Fitness Instructors
Ali McConnell
Ali has been involved in athletics and fitness her entire life, doing everything from swimming to kickboxing. She is a certified Fitness Instructor Specialist with Canfitpro and a certified Barre Instructor with the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association. Ali is passionate about fitness and is always looking for ways to mix-it-up in her classes. Join Ali for fun-filled, high-energy workouts that will keep you smiling while you feel the burn!
Cathy Jewison
Cathy is certified through AFLCA in older adult fitness and group fitness, with specialties in choreography, portable equipment, and mind/body. Additional certifications include MOC Barre Method, Barre Above with Pilates Focus, Bellyfit, and completion of her 200-hour certificate through YogaFit. With a background in belly dance, her interests are dance exercise and mind/body approaches. Cathy has taught a range of classes, including Bellyfit, BOSU, Fusion, and Yoga Flow.
Janet Pound
Janet loves group fitness and has been instructing a variety of fitness classes for more than 20 years. She instructs HIIT, cardio and strength training classes of various formats using all sorts of bars, bands, balls, weights and gliders to assist participants in achieving their fitness goals while striving to keep them motivated and fitness fun. Jessica Bos
Jessica is a canfitpro certified Personal Training Specialist with a passion for fitness. She got involved in teaching group fitness classes by volunteering with Atii Fitness Society in Iqaluit, Nunavut. She enjoys a challenge and encouraging others to push themselves through high intensity workouts. She loves teaching cardio, HIIT, and jump rope classes. Cygni Brown
Cygni has been a certified Zumba® instructor since 2012 and has brought Zumba love to the participants at Breakaway Fitness since 2013. As a registered Physiotherapist, she understands the critical importance of moving your body, physical fitness and exercise, as well as the benefits of fun, joy and positive energy on the brain. She loves Zumba® since it incorporates all these aspects and her passion is evident in her classes. Expect a high-energy class with loads of smiles all around!
Pooja Chugh
Pooja is a qualified fitness instructor, a nutritional therapist, a BSc Life Science graduate, and has research experience in exercise and nutrition. Competing in multiple sports at an international level, Pooja has a great passion for fitness, health, and wellness and enjoys motivating participants to achieve their goals. Pooja teaches a variety of classes and likes to be innovative to keep workouts fresh, fun, and challenging. Join her to get energized and enjoy a good sweat sesh!
Shawna Pound
Shawna brings a wealth of knowledge and education to her conditioning classes and develops her classes in a manner that achieves results in a challenging yet safe manner. Shawna has been sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for fitness at Breakaway for seven year. She holds a Degree in Kinesiology and a Masters in Physio Therapy. Wonder Ndholvu
Wonder is passionate about fitness and a certified Specialist in group fitness. He completed his certification with ISSA, an American based training course. He has extensive experience training team sports athletes, such as soccer, as well as running programs for athletes who are trying to get back fitness, in recovery, or training for trials and preparing for competition. He has always been enthusiastic about fitness be it in sports or bodybuilding. Wonder also offers personal training programs on a selective basis. Though he is just as demanding on himself as he is on on his clients, his efforts will help you achieve results.

Jojo
Bringing fitness tailored to your needs and for your enjoyment! Jojo has been involved in the health and wellness industry for over 10 years. She has been working in a variety of environments, from community centers and rehabilitation programs, to gymnastics clubs. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Pre- Postnatal, Older Adults, Cancer Survivor Exercise Specialist, Spinning Instructor and Aqua Fitness Instructor. Her passion is to help people fall in love with fitness and enjoy working out.
Jojo has a wealth of knowledge to share whether you are looking to improve your fitness, form or overall health. With Jojo, you are in very good hands towards meeting your goals.
